Just a short post today…Tammie and I enjoyed a sour guava from a tree in the backyard today. YUM! Seeds and all. She said we had to get it before the chickens did.
Also delish are the apple bananas that grow everywhere here. Smaller than regular bananas and with a tarter taste. YUM!
Phil picked a ton of tangerines for me from his yard that Tammie and I have been enjoying. So wonderful to eat fresh fruit from the trees!
It all sort of reminds me of living in Panama so many years ago and the mangoes, coconuts, and lime and lemon trees there.

We’re heading to Maui on Monday! Staying at the Banana Bungalow Maui Hostel in Wailuku…hmmm. Haven’t stayed in a hostel in about 10 years, so I’m sure there will be some good people watching stories to share. We’re going up Haleakala Volcano on Monday at about 10,000 feet. Tuesday we’re hoping to do Hana, which is Maui’s eastern coastline. The Hana Highway has more than 50 one-lane bridges! Wednesday is west Maui and Lahaina (the old capital of the Kingdom of Hawaii) and snorkeling!
