Throughout the Serengeti

Another game drive today; couldn’t wait to see what we’d see!

First off, we saw a large pride of lions under a tree. It is hard not to make comparisons between house cats and large cats in the wild. But seeing them with their massive paws in the air or making sure there’s a paw on the next lion over really makes it hard to not see your harmless house cat!pride 1_IGP5955pride 2_IGP5962

We did see a leopard in tree, very far away. (First branch shooting off to the left.)

Later….

Sometime in the middle of the night, I woke to hear a rustling sound from the bathroom in our tent. I thought it was Laura until it went on for some time. She also heard it. We couldn’t see anything in the bathroom, but it was unsettling. Turns out, we had an African bush cat on our roof during the night. Wish we’d seen it!

Did you know?

Female ostriches lay eggs and tend them during the day as she’s lighter in color; the male tends them at night as he’s black.
